About Gnosis
Built by a Civil Engineer who got fed up.
Gnosis exists because 27 years on infrastructure projects across Greece, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia taught me where the contract admin time goes — and that none of the existing tools were aimed at engineers running the contracts.
The story
I’m Alexios Kavallaris — Alex to most people who’ve worked with me. I’m a Civil Engineer.
I spent the last 27 years on roading and infrastructure projects across Greece, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia. Five of those years were with Waka Kotahi NZTA on the Waikato Expressway, where I administered some of the largest contracts under NZS 3910 in the country. Variations in the hundreds of thousands. Payment claims due monthly. RFIs piled in dozens. Notices and NCRs threading through every team and every consultant.
Here’s the thing I learned: the contract maths that legally drives a project doesn’t live in a project management tool. It lives in a spreadsheet on someone’s shared drive, with a folder of PDFs alongside it, and a long email thread tying them together.
Procore, Aconex, the other big platforms — they’re built for big-end-of-town document control. They’re great at storing a thousand drawings. None of them help a Civil Engineer or Engineer’s Representative actually run the contract — certify a payment claim under the right retention bands, authorise a variation against your delegation gate, route a Notice through approval, prove the maths to the client at month-end.
So I built Gnosis. Drop in a contractor’s claim, get a Certificate of Payment. Drop in a variation, get an authorised Variation Order. With the NZS 3910 clauses, the CCA 2002 statutory notices, the retention bands, the GST, and the multi-currency support for the Australian and US projects that work the same way under different terminology.
Gnosis is what I wanted on every project for two decades. It’s now what we offer to every project manager, contract administrator, Engineer’s Representative, and contractor on the engineering and infrastructure side. Your project could be one of our first 50.

27 years on major infrastructure projects across Greece, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Best known locally for work with Waka Kotahi NZTA on the Waikato Expressway. Winner of the 2020 Engineering Science Award for Civil Engineering. Founded Gnosis in 2023 to build the tool he'd needed on every project.
Where Gnosis is today.
Gnosis is in early access. The web app is live at app.gnosis.ltd, billing runs through Stripe, and we currently support contracts under three frameworks:
- New Zealand — NZS 3910:2013 (and 2023 where applicable), Construction Contracts Act 2002 statutory notices, GST at 15%
- Australia — general civil contract frameworks with GST at 10%
- United States — generalised contract structure with US terminology (Change Orders, Superintendent, Sales Tax)
We’re a small operation moving fast. Alex runs product. Offshore engineering support handles delivery. New features ship weekly. Your project could be one of our first fifty paying customers — which means the product still gets built around real customer feedback, not committee design.
If that sounds like the kind of tool you want to use on your next contract, the trial is 14 days and doesn’t need a credit card. If you’d rather talk first, book a 15-minute intro call below.

Where we're heading
What's coming next.
Gnosis ships new features every week. A few of the big ones on the runway:
- More report types. 26 additional PDFs catalogued — Council monthly reports, S-curve forecasting, tender adjudication summaries, accounting reconciliations.
- Apple SSO. Currently we support Google + Microsoft. Apple added once the Apple Developer Program account is set up.
- More approval modes. Sequential routing only at MVP. Parallel routing + any-approve quorum modes already designed; schema-ready.
- More integrations. Box and Microsoft 365 today. Procore + Aconex + Google Workspace + Xero accounting on the list.
- Public roadmap with voting. Coming via Canny — at roadmap.gnosis.ltd when stood up. Vote on what's next.
