When is the schedule due, and what does a day late cost?

Payment schedule date check

Enter the date the payment claim was served. The check gives the date the payment schedule or certificate is due under the Act and the standard form Gnosis holds for that jurisdiction, counted on that jurisdiction's own calendar, how many days are left, and what is at stake if nothing is issued. No account, no email. Nothing you enter leaves this page.

Your contract may set a different period. This is a worked example, not legal advice.

If your contract sets its own period, enter the period from your contract. Leave it blank to use the standard form's period.

The same rules Gnosis counts with, as its rulebook holds them: every applicable rule is worked out on its own calendar and the earliest date governs.

New Zealand working days: weekends, New Zealand public holidays and 24 December to 5 January are not counted (CCA 2002 s 5; the NZS 3910 Working Day definition). The day of service is not counted; the deadline is the last working day of the period.

Queensland business days: weekends, Queensland public holidays and 22 December to 10 January are not counted. AS 4000 cl 37.2 counts calendar days, every day of the week. The day the claim is given is not counted.

New South Wales business days: weekends, New South Wales public holidays and 27 to 31 December are not counted. AS 4000 cl 37.2 counts calendar days, every day of the week. The day of service is not counted.

Victoria business days: weekends, Victorian public holidays and, for claims served from 15 April 2026 (Act No. 43/2025), 22 December to 10 January are not counted; a claim served before that date keeps the earlier definition with no end of year window. AS 4000 cl 37.2 counts calendar days, every day of the week. The day of service is not counted.

Public holidays come from the same calendar library Gnosis runs (date-holidays 3.30.2, public holidays only; regional anniversary days and show days are approximated at national or state level), for claims served from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2028.

What Gnosis does with this

  • The statutory clock, counted on every claim and every certificate, on the right calendar. A late payment schedule is not an admin problem, it is a liability. Gnosis counts the clock so you do not have to.
  • The certificate maths to the cent: the claim netted against the certified position, with the retention bands and GST the contract actually requires.
  • Gnosis drafts the certificate, the notice and the variation. Nothing leaves your workspace until a named person approves it.
